Be Brave

If you ask me this is one of the most incredible verses in the entire Bible.

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

This commandment was given to Joshua after Moses died, God was giving Joshua all of his instruction on how to finish leading the Israelites through the Jordan & into their promised land. He tells Joshua to be strong and courageous, to be brave and courageous – he says this in 3 different verses – that Joshua needs to hold the law, meditate on the Word of God, and continuously be strong.

In motherhood – we aren’t crossing literal rivers – but we are in charge of keep little humans alive and healthy. We are getting up in the morning and rallying our little troops to go out into the world and be productive citizens that don’t hit other kids or scream constantly when an “inside” voice is actually warranted.

Here is something that every mom will relate to: dads will never get it. They will never understand our constant need to do everything, to obsess over projects, over outfits, over picture day. They will absolutely never understand why the details matter. But guess what mama? The Rock said it best – IT DOESN’T MATTER if they get it! We get it and thats enough.

So I want to encourage you to read Joshua 1 today – think of how overwhelming you are and how he must have felt when God was telling him to step up and be the “new” Moses for all of these people. You won’t get everything done every day girl, but you can choose to be brave when you feel like your gonna break, you can choose to be courageous when you really wanna run into the bathroom and pretend to be pooping so you can get 5 minutes to yourself.

you’ve got this!
